Submit My Blog: The Basics
The foremost question on the minds of most up and coming bloggers is "Why should I submit my blog to directories?" The answers to this question are quite varied, with some opting to submit to several blog directories at a time, with others failing to see much point in it. What I have learned through extensive research and experience however, is that I get consistently good results when I submit my blog to a few different blog directories a short time after launching them.
What I quickly learned when I submit my blog to blog directories was that I was able to garner backlinks in a fairly short time. This has allowed my websites to be found more easily by the major search engines, which then indexed my sites and caused them to rank higher in search results.
The interesting thing is how much importance search engines place on these links. In most cases, search engines rank pages that have such links higher, since they are generally considered to be more worthy of linking to. This is actually how I got better results when I submit my blog to blog directories. The directory listings themselves dont actually generate more visitors.
There is a bit of dispute about the proper number of blog directories to submit my blog to. Some people feel that I should submit my blog to as many as hundreds of blog directories, while others feel that this would be pointless.
As is the norm in the industry, it appears that submission to 10 blog directories or even less is sufficient. For although search engines are attracted to sites that have plenty of links, they are more likely to place a higher value on links that are featured on on topic posts and articles, as opposed to those that come from blog directories.
The question that this all brings up is how do I find blog directories to submit my blog to? A simple online search for "blog directory" will actually get you hundreds of potential directories to check out. In fact, many of the better blog directories came in at the top of the search results pages.
There are many blog directories that have specific rules about posting backlinks. I tend to shy away from those blog directories, and instead I tried to submit my blog to blog directories that were a lot less rigid.
Most blog directories let you go through the submission process fairly quickly, while others may require a lot more time. I felt that it would be best to skip the ones that take longer, and instead spend a few minutes in order to submit my blog only to a few blog directories. I was then able to focus on producing better content that resulted in more links. More Solar umbrella lights -- Blog -- Blogs --
