Internet registration is something that not everyone has to worry about, but for those that do, it may spell the difference between a site that people can readily access and one that is virtually invisible. And when you do decide to use your same site for business in the future, you will already have the advantage of a name that is easy to remember and easy to find.
Keep in mind that there is plenty of competition on the Internet for domain names, so it would be in your best interests to go through Internet registration as early as possible. Even if you plan to use your name as the domain name, you may find that it is already taken. Conversely, you may find that a name that was previously unavailable will be available suddenly, but only for a limited time.
