Archery and you part two, picking out a target
If you are new to the beautiful world of archery (and I assume you are if you are reading this) you may be asking yourself what you can use as a target to practice on in the off season. Seeing as the bow hunting season only for a short but glorious time but once a year, owning a target, or maybe even two can give you a way to practice, provided of course you have the space.
A large outdoor space like a back yard or a field is best, a target can be placed in the woods for practice as well but be sure to check with the local authorities before loosing arrows in a place that is not your own property. There is a good chance it may be illegal and if it is, you will be in violation of firing a deadly weapon. If you live in a city or simply do not have access to an outdoor space as described above, there are archery in every city imaginable and many towns too. Stores that sell hunting gear often have target ranges for practice and product testing and demonstration.
When choosing a target, it is best to first take into consideration the purpose of your practice. If you are practicing for hunting, a target shaped like nearly every animal thinkable is available for purchase, specifically to practice bow hunting. If your interest is more towards sharpshooting, targets are available with bulls eyes of various sizes and shapes and can be easily interchanged.
Whether your interest is hunting, or if you simply decided to graduate to a much larger game throwing darts, targets for practice are the absolute best option to improve your aim. Practice every day you can with your target, and using proper technique, you will notice significant improvement in your accuracy in no time.
